Motivational Quotes – Success

Some days a motivational quote can provide a quick pick-me-up for you and your loved ones. The quotes can be a breath of fresh air when it comes to a drab afternoon and add some motivation to your day. Quotes are also a great way to help your memory and train your brain.  Often, what you believe can be supercharged with just the right quote.

Here are 10 quotes that will motivate you and speed you along your path to success.  And we’ve added a little perspective to each one so you know how they can help you get started climbing toward that mountaintop.

1. Mahatma Gandhi: You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

In order to change the world, you have to act on your beliefs.  These beliefs inform your thoughts, turn your thoughts into words which then turn into action.  If you believe you can change the world, you will.  Don’t rely on others but instead be an agent of change others can work with.

2. Jim Stovall: You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.

It’s not enough to be on your own and working on your own success.  At some point you will have to interact with other people.  Once you become more comfortable with your own path and your plans for success it’s important to start to think about others… who you want to be around, what they are doing, how you can help.  We’re all in this together.

3. Robert Frost: The only way around is through.

I wish life was easy and I bet you do too.  Many times the only thing we can do is keep pushing forward, acting on our beliefs and instincts, sharing our values.  This then will push us towards our destiny.  If you spend time trying to get around things or avoid something, you’ll wind up losing time, wasting money and have to eventually face what’s in front of you or what’s hindering your progress.  Charge ahead!

4. Warren Buffett: You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things wrong.

Focus on what you know and what you’re good at.  The brain can handle everything and anything you believe you can do.  But trying “not to do the wrong things” will lead you down the wrong path and result in too many missteps.  And, be picky about how you spend your time too.  We all have the same 24 hours in each day.  You’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish if you “only have to do a few things right”.

5. Les Brown: You must remain focused on your journey to greatness.

Do you aspire to greatness?  You know instinctively there is a way through to what you want.  Your success depends greatly on remaining focused on what you want.  Of course there will be detours along the way, we all have them.  But returning to your roots, your path, your journey and renewing your focus is key.

6. Theodore Roosevelt: Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.

Success takes work.  I wish I could tell you it was all easy but I can’t.  Some things are actually easy and other parts of your journey will be easier over time.  But take some joy from the work you do.  And, if you aren’t getting energy back from your labors, then it might be time to rethink so you enjoy “working hard at work worth doing”.

7. Charles F. Kettering: Where there is an open mind, there is always a new frontier.

Keep yourself open to new adventures, new experiences and new learning.  Surely as you push forward and gain more and more successes, the openness makes the journey much more fulfilling.  You may only come this way once. So open up a little and see what’s on the horizon.

8. Henry Ford: Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!

Belief and your belief in yourself plays a critical role in success, your and others who are constantly striving to succeed.  What you believe and how you got to those beliefs informs the rest of the process, and remains one of the foundational elements of your success.  Take courage. Believe and think that you can!  You surely will.

9. Jim Rohn: You must either modify your dreams or magnify your skills.

Think about this one for a second.  If you’ve already achieved everything you want out of life, or if you can truly say to yourself that you succeeded and there’s nothing more to do then you don’t need this reminder.  However, if you’re still striving, still pushing forward, still experiencing new and different things, then a way to get to where you want to be is by developing your skills, magnify them, get better at something.  Your dreams can change too.  Try it, I think you’ll like the progress you can make.

10. William Hazlitt: Who likes not his business, his business likes not him.

There’s something elemental here.  If you are constantly doing things or working on things that you don’t enjoy or don’t like, your outcomes will not be to your liking (usually).  How can your business provide you with success or satisfaction if you don’t like it.  Find something you like, something you like to do, something you have to make sure you don’t spend too much time on.  When you do, it will pay you back more than you thought possible.
